A question I get a lot is can I buy a foreclosure with a VA loan and the answer is YES.

The only caveat is that the home must meat the VA minimum property requirements which I will list below. The main ones I see are pealing paint, lack of handrails and GFCI outlets where needed. The main thing is the property taxes which are not typically split between the buyer and the seller if the seller is a bank or other government entity like Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac which can add to the buyers closing costs.
