Important things to consider before you PCS

If you are buying a home when you PCS here are some important things to keep in mind when doing so.

  1. Will you be at the closing or not and if you’re purchasing with your spouse will they be there as well? If either party is not going to be there than a power or attorney will need to be completed. Also if either party is on active duty deployment they will need to communicate to the lender that they are alive and well prior to closing so communication will be very important. Email is easiest in these cases. –
  2. Do not assume it can be done virtually. In person signing are needed in 2021 but may change in the future for VA loans.
  3. Have you communicated this information to your lender, realtor and title company to ensure all parties are on the same page.
